Lucy Anne, daughter of Jonathan Odell, married Charles William Rudyerd, a Lt. Col. in the Royal Engineers. She died in Halifax, 14 Feb 1829 and is buried in the Old Burying Ground there. The grave is marked by an imposing box tomb. Her death was noted in the Saint John paper:

My name is Marion Stewart. You have probably seen my other messages
I’m also a descendant Sir Benjamin Rudyerd and his wife Elizabeth Harrington.
My 3 x great grandmother Letitia Gordon nee Rudyerd was the sister of Charles William Rudyerd (aunt of Emma Rudyerd).
I have copies of Sir Benjamin’s portraits’ and a copy of a portrait of Samuel R. Rudyerd, brother to Letitia Sarah and Charles William Rudyerd..
Sir Benjamin Rudyerd was Letitia’s 3rd Great Grandfather and the Rudyerd crest is on her memorial.
I also live in Canada.

I don’t know if you are aware of a book of Charles William Rudyerd’s sketches. It was found in Ottawa and reprinted. I bought several copies to give to family members and grandchildren.
It is limited Edition, made when he was a Cadet at the Royal Military Academy at Woolwich. I’m not sure if it’s still available!

and my grgrgrandmother was named Lady Emma Rudyerd.
my grgrfather was one of her sons . His name is Emile Hérissant
he was born in Cambrai (North France) in 1840 .

My 3rd great grandmother Letitia Sarah Rudyerd was the sister of CHARLES WILLIAM RUDYERD who Died at Gibraltar, 19 Oct 1813 of fever. Lucy Ann died 1829 in Halifax N.S
The Rudyerd’s had six daughters and one son

Most of them seem to have been baptised at Gosport Hampshire England.
Charles William was born in the UK Parents Gen. Henry Rudyerd and Mary Rudyerd nee Pryer

Miss Hill’s series of books on The Old Burying Ground, Fredericton, New Brunswick – Volume IV of which is published here – tells the stories of those who buried in the Old Burying Ground, organized by burial lot. This lot contains the bodies of those four mentioned. Volume I of the series, published 1981, describes the large lot containing the tombs of Jonathan Odell and Anne (DeCou) Odell, along with several other monuments. One, at the east end of Rev. Odell’s tomb, is inscribed in memory of the daughters Mary and Lucy, both of whom died elsewhere and are believed to be buried elsewhere. The inscription is now illegible; it is possible that Sarah’s remains are here, but that is not known.

I am a direct descendant of Dr. Jonathan Odell through his daughter Lucy Anne who married Charles William Rudyerd. There were two other daughters and I’m wondering why none of the daughters are mentioned as descendants of Jonathan Odell, originally from Newark New Jersey USA.
Mary Anne, Lucy Anne and Sarah Anne were the daughters having been given the second name of Anne to honour their mother Anne DeCou.
Lucy’s daughter, Harriet, was my gr gr grandmother and married Addington Davenport Parker.
