Hewitt / Hewett
In Memory of Capt. John Hewitt, 52 Regiment, died August 25th 1825 aged 33 years.
There are no stones in this lot, but in the adjacent lot there is a stone lying flat and imbedded in the grass. There is also a tree in this lot.
New Brunswick Royal Gazette, 3 September 1825:
DIED on the 25th inst. after a short illness and deeply lamented by his brother officers, Capt. John Hewett of His Majesty’s 52nd Regiment of Light Infantry, a relative of General Sir George Hewett.
New Brunswick Royal Gazette, 3 January 1826:
Any person having claims against the Estate of the late Capt. Hewett, deceased, of the 52nd Light Infantry, are required to render the same to Capt. St. John by the 3rd of January next. Fredericton 27th December 1825.
